Breathwork is a simple yet powerful practice where we focus on our breathing to help our body and mind feel better. Breathwork is natural—no equipment or experience is needed. Breathwork is rooted in developing our breathing muscles - the diaphragm, intercostal and accessory muscles. By incorporating breathing practices into our daily routine, we develop muscle memory to breathe in certain patterns and rhythms, and let our breath do the work in helping us feel healthier, happier, and more in control in moments of negative emotions, distress or crisis!
At Neurovana, the Breathwork practice is rooted in Pranayama, with a focus to consciously control the breath to regulate the flow of energy (or prana) in the body. Originating from ancient yogic traditions, Pranayama is a Sanskrit term where 'Prana' means life force or vital energy, and 'Ayama' means expansion or regulation. Together, Pranayama influences the mind-body connection and activates the nervous system in ways that help balance emotional states.
While applying the foundation and core of traditional practices, the Neurovana practice is adapted to align with the constraints of the modern lifestyle, making it accessible to people of all ages and experience levels. We offer science-backed Breathwork practices that provide techniques for sustained, measurable wellness outcomes, as well as develop a strong foundation for more advanced yoga and meditation practices. Our Certified Coaches teach group single session workshops, longer duration group sessions and offer private coaching tailored for personalized wellness journey.
